Annotations for Dominic andersen christopher chung carrie hope fletcher jodie steele sophie isaacs and tshan williams big fun

Lyric: In the flesh
Annotation:
“in the flesh” is a phrase used to describe seeing or meeting someone in person

Lyric: Let’s rub each other’s backs
 While watching porn on Cinemax!
Annotation:
On certain websites, they actually change “prn” to another word to censor it.

Lyric: A hot guy smiled at me
 Without a trace of mockery!
Annotation:
without a trace of mockery is because she was also laughed at before she joined the heathers, partially also by being friends with martha

Lyric: Our folks got no clue
’Bout half the shit their children
Annotation:
Parents and adults being oblivious and/or not caring about the kids is a consistent theme in the musical

Lyric: Brainiac cleans up alright
 Veronica is hot tonight!
Annotation:
This is replacing the original lyric, “Everyone’s high as a kite, ain’t nobody home tonight!” To be ‘high’ is to be under the influence of drugs, such as weed (which is later stated in the original lyrics/song ), for pleasure.

Lyric: Hi, Ram! I wasn’t gonna come, but since you took the trouble to write that sweet note…
Annotation:
Ram didn’t write the note. As shown in Candy Store, Veronica (being a master forger) was pressured into writing a fake note to Martha, pretending to be Ram by the Heathers.

Lyric: I think that’s what they call “third base.”
Annotation:
Third base is oral sex. This shows Veronica’s lack of sexual knowledge, the couple was only making out

Lyric: So, it’s salt then shot then lime. Very important to get the order right
Oooh! You’re a natural, just like my mom!
Annotation:
Heathers mom is probably an alcoholic. Judging by the order they’re drinking tequila with a lime chaser

Lyric: Whee! Whee! Whee! Whee!
Annotation:
Ram humps the Razorback piñata as he says this, essentially saying that Westerburg is going to fuck the Razorbacks so hard they’ll squeal like pigs. Metaphorically, of course.

Lyric: Dad says “Act your age.”
Annotation:
Ram’s dad obviously meant to act mature, as someone your age should. Instead, Ram chooses to interpret his words as permission to act like a high school party monster.

Lyric: His folks got a waterbed
Come upstairs and rest your head
Annotation:
This line is supposed to be an innuendo for sex.

Lyric: Don’t get close, you might ignite
 Veronica is hot tonight!
Annotation:
This lyric accompanies the previous one, and in this case replaces the “fill that joint and roll it tight, ain’t nobody home tonight” in the off-Broadway version. While it is likely that this lyric was replaced to water down the presence of marijuana in the song, which would be considered scandalous during the peak of the D.A.R.E. program in the 1980s, it could also have been added to stress how Veronica’s peers felt toward her drunk behavior.

Lyric: Freaked, tweaked. Head’s a blur
How did I get so popular?
Annotation:
This is new lyrics, different from the original off broadway cast album where the lyrics are: ”Stoned, zoned. I should quit, hey, is that weed? I want a hit!”
